Mazel Tov Rachel Simon! What a fun Bat Mitzvah. Rehearsal was at the beautifully renovated Kol Shofar in Tiburon. It was a spectacular evening at the Meadow Club in Fairfax. The deer even enjoyed the lush grounds while we were taking the family photos. Incredible floral designs were by Susan Barton.
Rebecca and Nick were the cutest couple ever! Their beautiful wedding day was planned by her father Nigel. A first for me but what a charming planner to work with. Rebecca and her girls started the day at Clos La Chance Winery in San Martin, CA. Hair and makeup were by Jane Kim of the Glamourist. Nick and the guys got ready at the Fairmont San Jose. The most gorgeous florals and design were provided by Audrey Chaney of Botanica Events, invitations and programs by Union Street Papery. Rebecca and Nick had met when they were both in school at Santa Clara University so having their wedding ceremony there was incredibly special to them. As Rebecca and her dad pulled up to the Misson Santa Clara in their vintage car, they had a few special moments together before she headed down the aisle. Their ceremony was filled with lots of laughter and joy. The big wooden doors swung open so they could exit to greet all of their guests, many of whom had traveled from England for the festivities. Back to Clos La Chance for dinner and dancing. Everyone loved the gelato bar supplied by Sweet Springs Gelato.
Wow! Cynthia and Ali had a vision for their wedding and look how amazingly well it turned out. Cierra of Dreams on a Dime Weddings and Events, dreamsonadime.com was the perfect planner for this event. Sarah Hyde of sHe, http://sarahhyde.com/, created dramatic makeup and hair for Cynthia that complemented her dress. Cherries Flowers, cherriesflowers.com provided the vibrant florals. Cynthia and Ali started their day by being picked up from their house in a 59 Chevy Impala that was the most gorgeous shade of turquoise. Dolores Park, Clarion Alley and Fort Point were on our destination list for photos. They pulled up to the Log Cabin in the Presidio and walked right to their ceremony site on the lawn in front of their gathered guests. Afterwards no less than 3 food trucks were on hand with tempting treats for the guests: RoliRoti, Chairman Bao and El Tonayense. My favorite band, Ben Marcato showed their usual flair for pulling guest onto the dance floor. The Mission’s own BiRite Market catered the event and served ice cream sandwiches and root beer floats. One True Love Vintage Rentals, onetruelovevintage.com added styling with their vintage details. Wow!
What a wonderful wedding this one was! Jessica wore a stunning dress by Augusta Jones with a six pence from her mother’s wedding day sewn into her dress as she walked down the aisle at St. Ignatius Church. Their ceremony was a mix of Catholic and Sri Lankan traditions. The groom’s father performed the ceremony of the pinky tying with holy water poured over their tied fingers. The bride and groom exited the church with their guests waving streamers as they stepped into a vintage Rolls Royce. They arrived at the Westin St. Francis in downtown San Francisco to join the cocktail hour serenaded by the sound of steel drums played by Derek Smith. Table place cards were luggage tags hung next to a map documenting the couple’s extensive travels throughout the world. As the doors opened to the majestic dining room detailed by Lauren and Emily of Downey Street Events, you could hear gasps of amazement. Exquisite flowers by by Craig Brown adorned every table. Favor boxes delicately wrapped in playful patterns sat on guest plates, containing a piece of Sri Lankan wedding cake. And across the dance floor, covered with pink rose petals in the shape of a W, was a gorgeous 3 tier masterpiece from Butterfly Cakes. Dj Sam Isaac kept everyone dancing late into the evening.
